Free macOS Guitar Impulse Response Loader VST Plugin

Looking for a free Guitar/Bass Impulse Response (IRs) VST app e.g. Cab Simulator for macOS? Here we have one recommendation for ya. A free one! … don’t get it wrong, it’s free but great app anyway.

The Guitar Impulse Response app that I am talking about is called NadIR by Ignite Amps. It’s a dual cabinet simulator VST plugin for guitar or bass that really light (CPU Friendly) to use it inside your DAW software.

The app has three routing modes you can select in your mix or in your jam session. Which is; Mono, Dual Mono and of course, Stereo mode.

The IR app also has Zero Latencies, so you will not have any issue between what you are playing and the sound hears that comes out from the cab sim into your monitor speaker.

Automatic high-quality resampling for IRs with different sampling rates. And you have an analog Low Pass filter & High Pass filter for shaping the tone the way you want it.

Also, you can tweak the amount of the IRs length up to 0.185 seconds by using the Delay knob on each guitar cabinet.

Of course, it has the global input level and single IRs level controls on the User Interface. And the most important is, this Guitar Cabinet Simulator app is very low CPU usage.

How to use it?

To use the Impulse response loader (Cab Simulator) app is very simple, you need to put the VST app after the Amp Simulator VST’s that you use inside FX chains in your DAW. Please see the screenshot below for an example.

Then, load the Impulse Response from your computer by click on the Folder Icon on the cabinet simulator user interface.

Hot Tip! For great results, use different IRs for each channel. It will sound great whether you use Mono or Stereo mode. See the screenshot below.
