It is “free app” but you always can upgrade it to a full version if you want to use it in a full function. And yeah! you’ll see no ads in the pro version and a lot of more pro features that you can’t get in the free version of course.

How to Use Unified Remote App to Turn Smartphone As Computer Remote Control

First, you need to download Unified Remote from App Store, Windows Store or Google Play Store according to what device you use, and install it on your smartphone.

Then, in order to make the app can connect to your computer you need to download the server for your computer from the official Unifiedremote.com website.

The server is available in cross-platform, for Mac, Windows, and Linux. The app was also available for an embedded platform such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino Yún.

Test It Out

Once you are done installing the apps, both on your smartphone and on your computer. Now you can connect both devices and start to use your smartphone as your computer‘s remote.

For example, if you want to play your favorite music on iTunes playlists. Simply tap on the Unified Remote app menu then tap on Remotes. And choose Media, tap on ‘Play’ button and the iTunes should open and start to play your playlists.

To remotely control your computers mouse, tap the mouse icon on the app navigation menu.

In my opinion, how the app can ‘remote’ the computers mouse is amazingly light and less delay. That’s awesome!

If you are using the free version and want to remote your computer’s keyboard, you will need to go back to Menu > Remotes > Keyboard.

Unlike the mouse remotes that you can simply tap the mouse icon on app navigation. “On Screen” keyboard only works in the paid version.

To turn your computer off, find the Power Button in Menu > Remotes.

You can also manage your files within the app. To add more remote function, tap on (+) green button e.g. VLC media player or Youtube (web).
