One Humbucker – One Volume + Tone – Wiring diagram for EMG HZ H4 Passive Pickup

One Humbucker - One Volume + Tone - Wiring diagram

This post is for you guys who look for how to wire A single Humbucker pickup plus one volume, plus tone. Especially if your pickup is EMG HZ H4 (Bridge pickup).

However, it will also work on most pickup on the market out there in this particular set-up. Which is a single humbucker bridge pickup with a volume and tone control.

A few years ago, I build a custom guitar myself. At that time I want to build a guitar with a simple set-up, which only has one bridge pickup with one volume knob + one tone knob.

I craft the body from waste wood and buy a custom 24 fret neck from an online store. I decide to put an EMG HZ H4 (a passive pick up) on it along with a tremolo bridge and locking nut.

I choose EMG HZ H4 passive pickup because I love the sound. It has clarity on its tone and really good for playing heavy music with it. And yeah the price is also affordable too.

So below is the wiring diagram that I use for my custom-built electric guitar. I hope it can be your reference, especially if you are using EMG HZ H4 passive pickup.

In the picture above, Pot is for Potentiometer. Its recommended you use the 500k potentiometer for guitar. For the capacitor, you can use the standard Green Capacitor for electric guitar.

And below, is the sample sound of the EMG HZ H4 using the wiring diagram above. Please take a listen, I do a cover of Nirvana song called In Bloom. Vishva is my one-man-band project on Soundcloud btw.

And … below is how the DIY custom build guitar looks like. BTW, the guitar was made years ago and I very rare to play it lately so you will see the rust and dust everywhere. So, please don’t judge πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Note

So if you are looking for a mid-low-end pickup by a big brand that sound killer EMG HZ H4 is a really good choice. Usually, it sells in pairs with the Neck pickup which is EMG HZ H4A.

However, some seller sells them separately. Like this one that you can check it on Amazon. Here is the link: https://amzn.to/2uZHykm (Affiliate link)

Okay, I hope you guys found this post is useful. And I say Thank you if you buy the product from my affiliate links. I really appreciate you ??
