It’s been nearly a month since I started building my blog, Digimanx, and I’ve written several posts. However, I’ve noticed an issue: when I search for my blog name or related keywords on Google, Yahoo, or Bing, my website and its content do not appear in Google’s search results at all. I initially thought my site needed a few more days or weeks to be indexed by Google, so I continued writing new posts while waiting. However, after almost two months, none of my blog content had been indexed by Google or other search engines like Bing, Yahoo, and Yandex.
I’m in trouble because Google Spiders typically crawl all new websites and their content. These AI-driven crawlers respond to ‘ping’ activity, but they are ignoring my blog. Having a website or blog that no one can find is a serious issue. It’s disheartening to write 20 articles and have only yourself as a reader.
After making some adjustments, my sites are now indexed by Google and other search engines. In this post, I want to share my experience with those who have a new WordPress blog and want it indexed faster, or who face similar issues. Here are six steps you can take to get your new WordPress blog indexed by Google more quickly.
1. Submit your WordPress site to Search Engines
If you don’t have an account, sign up for Google Search Console (formerly Webmaster Tools) now. If you already have a Google account, log in and add your website as a property. I recommend adding all variations of your website URL, such as http://yoursite.com, https://yoursite.com, and http://www.yoursite.com. See the picture below for how I added my website property.
After adding your site URL, Google will prompt you to verify it. You can use the recommended method by downloading the HTML verification file from Google and uploading it to the Home directory in your cPanel. Alternatively, you can select the ‘Alternate method’ and follow the instructions provided by Google Search Console.
Do the same on Bing Webmaster Tools as well. (Bing and Yahoo shared the same Webmaster)
2. Request for your website to get indexed by Google
On the Search Console page, request immediate indexing of your website by clicking on Crawls in the left sidebar, then selecting Fetch as Google from the drop-down menu. Click Fetch, followed by Request Indexing. See the screenshot below.
A pop up dialog ask you to choose the submit method.
Choose Crawl this URL. In the future, keep on doing this every time you publish new content on your blog. And after updating the old content.
Since Google has updated the Search console it makes you easier to request indexing your website page.
3. Create and submit a Sitemap
Create an XML Sitemap to inform search engines about your website’s pages. To do this, install the Google XML Sitemaps plugin from the WordPress admin plugins page. After activation, return to Search Console and navigate to Crawl > Sitemaps in the left menu.
In the Sitemaps page, click on the red button on the top right of the page ‘ADD/TEST SITEMAP’ then write down sitemap.xml,
And below is the example on how to do it in a new version of Google Search Console. If you don’t use the new version of search console you should start using it now. Because soon or later the old one may be no longer be available.
Most of sitemap URL usually sitemap.xml but in some cases, it could be sitemap_index.xml. Also, don’t forget to submit your Sitemap to Bing Webmaster too. [Note!] Yahoo and Bing have the
4. Submit your blog feed to Google FeedBurner

Create a dedicated page for your website and include its link in all your social media profiles, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and YouTube. This effectively signals search engines to recognize your website. Share all your posts on social media enthusiastically.
Other tips to make your blog get indexed faster
Implementing the basic steps mentioned above should help your website get indexed quickly by Google and other search engines. If your blog still doesn’t appear, there may be other issues at play, much like my own problem with Sneaky Mobile redirects. I identified the cause, resolved it, and then submitted a Reconsideration Request to Google for review.

Thank goodness! After implementing those strategies, my website content is finally being indexed by Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines. Hopefully, my experience can help you get your new WordPress site indexed faster as well.
