How to Block VPN & Proxy on WordPress

Need to block VPN and Proxy traffic in your WordPress/WooCommerce site on the specific pages or posts? this is how you can do it!

When you get a lot of invalids traffics on your WordPress site, that’s because most of the visitors may use a VPN or Proxy when they visit your website/blog.

It will mess your analytics data for sure. It’s not good when you need to develop your site furthermore. Meanwhile, by using a VPN or Proxy, peoples can browse the internet as an anonymous user.

So, if you need to block VPN and Proxy traffic in your WordPress/WooCommerce site? this is the easiest way to do it.

Ya, by using WordPress plugins that work well. One of the plugins that work as it should is Proxy & VPN Blocker by RickstermUK. Ok, here’s how to set the plugin.

Setting plugin to Block VPN and Proxy traffics

First, you need to install the plugins first. Here is the page of the Proxy & VPN Blocker plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/proxy-vpn-blocker/. Or simply search it from the WordPress admin plugins page.

If you are using a free version of the Proxy & VPN Blocker plugin, this is the best settings you can go along with.

After you install and activate the plugin, go to the installed plugin page on your WordPress Admin dashboard. Find the Proxy & VPN Blocker in the plugins list and click on Settings.

Next in the plugin setting page, make sure the option of Querying and the detects VPN is activated. You can leave the other settings by default.

Set to restrict on specifics post and page only (Recommended)

You don’t need to block all pages of your site from the VPV and Proxy users. Restrict only on the specifics posts and pages that you need to block the invalid visitor’s data caused by VPN and Proxy used. Please see the screenshot below on how to do it.

Optionally, you can get the API Key for more Daily Queries. For a free user without the API Key, you only get 100 queries. If your site visitors are more than 100 hundred then you may need to activate the API Key to get 1,000 daily queries (Free).

If you want more from the Proxy & VPN Blocker plugin, you may need to upgrade to become Paid users.
