Easily Add Post By Categories to Specific Blog Page

Maybe coding and technical stuff was challenging and fun for some expert, for us it could be something interesting to learn too sometimes, but it’s often only make a headache LoL. What interesting about blogging is that we can learning while we sharing. And more we sharing more we knowing. Am I right?

But yeah! sometime we just want to blogging and don’t wanna get troublesome with technicals stuff.

In this post I want to share a tips how you can easily adding some post by categories into specific page on your WordPress blog using a plugin for alternative. The plugins is called “Content Views” by PT Guy, the plugin is useful to create custom grid, list for WordPress blog on a specific page without coding.

You can download free version of Content Views plugin from WordPress.org plugins page, click here to go directly to Content Views developer page. Download the plugin and upload it to your WordPress blog/site.

To download PRO version of Content Views CLICK HERE.

Or search Content Views plugin directly from plugins page on your WP Admin panel. Just click Add New and search it using the keywords of “Content Viewswithout quotes.

Just to make you sure! below is the screen shot of the plugins I am talking about.

Just click on Install Now button and then activate the plugin.

How to Setting Content View

Make sure you have creating pages you want to add specific categories into it. For example Add New page and name it e.g Computers & Internet, Review etc.

And then click on Content Views icon on your WP Admin panel side navigation thats appear after you activate the plugin.

In Content View page click on Add New “Views” button.

Name it just like the way the name of page you wish to add specific categories. In filter setting, select “Post” on Content type. See picture below

Scroll down your browser, in the “Advance” setting check for ✅ Taxonomy (Categories, Tags…)  continue with check to mark for ✅ Categories and ✅ Tag. And then click on Select terms of Categories and Tags box and add categories and tags that related to the page.

In the “Operator” make sure IN – show post with matchANY selected terms. And in the “Relation” menu select OR instead of AND. See picture below

For optional looks and style, go to Display settings” and customize the way you want your page will look like. My suggestion is let everything by default except for “Pagination” “Thumbnail” and “Content”

For “Pagination” You can check the mark box to Enable pagination. And set Items per page number the way you want it.

For “Content” change number of Show Excerpt setting option, change the number to 50 or 100. Let anything else by default. See picture below

For “Thumbnail” it’s up to you, but my suggestion the best size is Medium. However it’s up to you, you always can see the live preview of your setting by click on sticky “Show preview” green-button on the left of the page.

Click Save to save the new “Content Views” settings you’ve made. When it done copy the green highlighted code on top of the page. see ?

Go to Page you have create that you wish to add this Content Views. And paste the code there.

And Done! Now you can preview how is your new page looks like. If it’s look good congratulation, if you don’t feel satisfied, then you can always edit it again and find the match.

Do the same for other page you want to add specific post by categories and tag. By the way below is the screen shot how it look.

Note

You can use Content Views plugin in free version, but the button color maybe not the same as your Theme button color, in order to change the style color etc you have to upgrade Content Views to pro version. However, if you don’t mind with that, then everything it’s okay ?

Thats it! I hope this post could help you. If you found this post is useful you can share it with your friend.

Cheers!
