Having a fast & stable Computer is always delight, but can PC run faster even with minimum RAM? in this post you can apply a few tips you can try to tweak your Windows to get the maximum performance and speed as possible.
This tips will really useful especially for PC with minimum RAM. We not gonna do some extreme tweak here, we will do it in a “casual way” for home and personal use. Wether you run Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 as well.
Okay! This is things you can do to boost Windows PC performance! So! lets do some tweaks! 🛠
1. Dissable unescessary effect
Go to Control Panel>System properties>Advance system setting>Performance>setting dissable unesescary effect for example uncheck Enable peak, Slide open combo boxes, Animate windows when minizing and maximizing and other effect that you actually doesn’t need, but keep the appearance still looks “easy in the eye” when you are done click Apply.
2. Set performance to Background services and set Paging file
Still in Performance Setting click next tab Advance Change Adjust best performance of Program to Background services. Continue with click Change to change Virtual memory uncheck Automaticaly manage paging file size for all drive and select Custom size. Calculate it using easy math, for example if your RAM is 2 Gb than set the Initial size to 2000 MB and Maximum size is 4000 MB this very useful if your RAM is below 4 GB. This Paging file will make your Drive as it as a RAM.
When you’re done dont forget to click Apply, when warning message pop up tell you to restart computer, just click I will restart my computer later, but remember to reboot your computer later for change to take effect.
3. Dissable remote assistance
Back to System properties go to Remote tab and uncheck Allow remote assistance conection to this computer.
You can enable it again later when its needed for work with remote computer. Skip this step if your computer have to connect with remote assistance.
4. Dissable automatically sincronize Internet time
Don’t worry this will not effect internet conection as long as year of date is not set in January 2005 while the present date was January 2017.
To do this go to Control panel>Date and time>Internet time Change settings.. uncheck Synchronize with an internet time server and click Apply.
5. Dissable unescessary start up program
Right click on Task bar and select Task Manager or you can just type Task Manager in Windows search bar go to start up tab and dissable unesescarry startup program/application.
Warning! do not dissable any system program.
6.Turn off scheduled for Defragment and optimize drive (Optional)
Go to Control panel>Administrator tool double click to open Defragment and optimize drive on Schedule optimizon click Turn off button. After doing this always remember to do it manually at least 3 time a month for drive maintanace.
7. Dissable User account Control Setting
Go to Control Panel>User Account>Change User Account Control setting Set it down to Never notify.
8. Disable Auto Play
To disable auto play you can go to Control Panel>Auto Play uncheck Use AutoPlay for all media and device. Instead of use auto play you can open the device manually. You can enable some of auto play devices like Music CD’s for example and leave other disabled.
This is also good to prevent virus for spread immediately trought usb drive.
9. Set Power to High performance (Optional Desktop only)
Never do this on Laptop! this is only for desktop PC only.
To do it, go to Control panel>Power options>Additional plans select High performance than click on Change Advance Power settings set Hardisk, Turn off display and Put Computer to sleep, Hibernate, to Never.
10. Delete junk and temp files
You can use program like CCleaner to do this job for you, or you can do this manually. To do it manually go to Control Panel>File explorer option> view “tab”>Hidden files and folder select Show hidden files, folder and drive click Apply, this will make all hidden files and folder appear on File explorer.
Than open File explorer navigate to Local disc(C:)>User>UserName>AppData>Local>Temp delete all temp file right there (Do this at least once every week as part of your PC regular maintenance)
When finish tweaking, restart computer! log on back and you can feel the different of your PC performance.
Other thing you can do especially when you are running Windows 8.1 & 10 is by turn off some of apps on Start menu that’s not ‘really’ used.
One more thing, don’t forget to schedule scanning your system with Antivirus software.
And consider to upgrade your PC/Laptop memory (RAM) size. More bigger more better!
