For guitar player, having a Tuner app installed on their Android or iOS device is a must. Because you don’t always bring your ‘real tuner’ everywhere right?
Whether you are playing guitar just for hobby like me or as a professional, found untuned guitar to play along was a super annoying thing.
On some situation it happen all the time especially for electric guitar that have no locking nut, and mostly you found it in acoustic guitars. Yep! you know what I am talking about
I bet you already have a guitar tuner app installed on your android or iOS, nowadays who don’t?
But here I am not going to make a list of all guitar tuner apps that you can find them easily on Google Play and App Store. No I don’t!
Right here I wanna talk about two apps that made by two famous music gear companies that you perhaps never try these app yet. And why you should try em out.
That two companies I am talking here are Fender and Roland Corporation.
Fender release their app called ‘Fender Tune’ and Roland have app named just like their famous pedal ‘Boss Tuner’
Okay, below is a short review about two of them, as I try and use it my self for tuning my guitars
Fender Tune
As far as I use Fender Tune I do really like the app, it’s a very simple but effective guitar tuner app that you can get and it’s free anyway.
Just pluck your string and the app will guid you to the right tune. Or you can choose to tune your guitar in Auto or Manual mode on main menu of the app.
For my taste the app response is quite good and accurate actually, and in the settings menu you can find many different settings you prefer for guitar tuning like;
Drop D
Drop C#
Drop C
Drop B
Drop A
DADGAD
Half step down
Full step down
Half step up
Open C
Open D
Open E
Open F
Open G
and Open A
There is also available settings for acoustic guitar and bass too!
You can also turn on Chromatic mode if you like

Boss Tuner
As a big company who produce musical equipment Roland Corporation also have made mobile app for keeping your guitar in tune.
The app called ‘Boss Tuner’ it has GUI just like the ‘real’ famous Boss chromatic turner pedal they’ve made.
Its pretty nice app with the good looking GUI, feels like you tune your guitar with the real pedal. And yeah! the app is free.
In the main menu it have Reference Tone button, Volume control, News and App settings for you to change reference pitch you desire app sensitivity and Manual to learn the app features.

Just another closing words
However if you ask my opinion for a simple and accurate guitar tuner app, then Fender Tune is my choice.
But if you are love app with nice looking GUI then Boss Tuner probably your best choice.
Both good for execute the tune. But my choice for tuning my guitar is Fender Tune.
Thats it! give those app a try and let me know your thought in the comment
If you don’t like these two apps that’s okay, just go to Google Play or App Store to check for many other Guitar Tuner apps that you can search using keywords for “guitar tuner”
